I hope all of you had a fantastic Thanksgiving break! It was so nice to spend time with family, and eat more than my fair share of food that didn’t come from a college cafeteria! The leftovers and holiday cookies were a definite bonus in their own right.
Now it’s back to the college grind! But one thing is for sure: I’m going back with FABULOUS hair. Over this week and a half, I have been testing out the HASK Keratin Smoothing Hair Care Collection. I did receive these products for free, in exchange for writing this review, but I will have you know that my opinions are entirely my own! There isn’t room for any dishonesty in this shoebox of a dorm room.
At first glance, the HASK shampoo and conditioner smell nice and fresh, and look no different from ordinary shampoos and conditioners. The bottles are pretty, but don’t scratch at the label when wet, because the ink comes right off.
For those that don’t know me well enough in person to note this, I DO NOT put any effort into my hair on a daily basis. I shampoo it and condition it. If I’m really feeling frisky, I’ll brush it (GASP!). My hair is naturally straight as a board and lifeless, and I’ve given up fighting it long ago. Because of all of this, I’m really careful about my selection of products I use. It’s easy to cover up greasy roots if you take the time to put your hair up or curl it. Frizzy hair is a lot more acceptable when accompanied with curls than it is with straight hair. Above all, my scalp produces more oil than the average, so I have up to this point utilized very strategic shampoos and conditioners to balance that out.
Naturally with all of these concerns in mind, I was hesitant to make the switch. Could this hair care collection really do all it promises? And would it really make a difference in my normal routine?
Normally when you switch hair products, your hair is a lot softer and smoother those first couple of days. This product was no different. My hair was so silky that my fingers were in it all day long! What made the difference? My hair remained this silky for days longer than normal.
After One Week
I think it might be magic. My hair generally feels a lot lighter. Brushing it has gotten a lot easier, and on those rare occasions I actually curl my hair, it holds curls a lot easier.
After Two Weeks
I haven’t seen much of a change in the reliability of the product. My hair is consistently light and less gnarly, and the fresh smell of the conditioner lasts all day. I would expect that over time, my hair would adjust and go back to being heavy and flat, but it really hasn’t happened thus far.
Overall, I really love these HASK Keratin Smoothing hair care products. They smell great, and they’ve really improved the health of my hair!
